Research Interests

I am interested in using novel genomic and high-throughput biological methods in order to disect and understand the plethora of multi-factorial events that occur during oncogenesis.

At present, I am delving into the world of pathogen informatics by developing a high throughput computational pipeline from existing bioinformatics tools that enables the rapid screening of pathogen genomes for genes under positive selection and putative virulence factors.

I am also a participant of the Stanford-South Africa Biomedical Informatics program (SSABMI). This program has been established by the Fogarty foundation to promote Bioinformatics in Africa by identifying potential leaders in the field and providing them with an exceptional level of education.
